NCAA Championship: Social Campaign Creation

When UNC’s Men’s Basketball Team reached the 2022 Final Four, the athletic department asked me to create some graphics for social media to celebrate the team being in New Orleans.

Sketching

When deciding what came to mind when I thought of New Orleans, I made a list of a few main ideas. The one that we decided on was the beignets. To make it stand out as specific to UNC, I wanted to add some powdered sugar stencils that would leave an outline of famous UNC logos. To make it feel like you were in the french quarter, I added some windows that were inspired some I found while researching New Orleans architecture.

Final Illustration

This was the final illustration posted on social media. From sketch to final form, I added some Mardi Gras beads to match the UNC Aesthetic. Additionally, I added coffee with some foam art to further add to the homage to Café Du Monde.

Social Media Reception

This ended up being one of the most successful posts for the Final Four campaign. The Illustration was featured by SkullSparks, a college athletics digital strategy company, on Twitter.
