Ebb & Flow

For my senior year Capstone, I was Editor-in-Chief, Brand Manager, and Creative Director. I worked with over 12 students to create a full magazine in one semester. Because of the pandemic, all work was done virtually through Zoom, Google Drive, and FaceTime.

Creating an Aesthetic

After our class decided our magazine’s theme would be trends of the year, I was in charge of creating an aesthetic to match. I created this pinterest board to give the other students some design ideas for their own work. I wanted to create a style that was simplistically modern but easily duplicated. Creating Brand Standards

For the students to have an idea of what they had to work with, I created a template for both double and single-page designs. Additionally, I created a style guide to create a mission and execution plan for the brand. You can click on the images to see the entire document.

Showing the way

To make things easier for my writers, I created a tutorial to show the specific parts of the templates that were most important to follow. I used both a blank template and my own work to explain my objectives.

The Final PRoduct

We ended up finishing the final edits about two weeks after the semester’s end. It was one of the hardest and most rewarding experiences I’ve ever had. You can click on the image to see the full magazine.
